What's new at The Wood Cottage

On a cold February Sunday we thought we would let you know what we have been working on for the new season and to wish a happy new year to all our previous and future guests.

We decorated The Adorable Cabin into a Christmas woodland cabin at Christmas which guests loved. We have been working so hard to improve the wifi in the cabin, which has worked!! So when visiting now you will be able to connect much better, no mean feat as we discovered the aluminium coated insulation was blocking connection, but it now has it's own connection so if you need to work while away it will be much easier. Other improvements in the cabin include:

  • a new heated towel rail in the bathroom,

  • blackout curtains and blinds in the main room

  • privacy voile curtains

  • mixer and baking tools, new recipe books

We are always working to keep our rooms equipped for our guests.

The Balcony Room has had work this winter too. The bath now has a shower rail and wall fitted shower so you can choose between a quicker shower or a long soak in the bath, making it more convenient for guests. The room also has blackout thermal curtains which is an improvement. The winter breakfast menu will still be in place until Spring.

Update on the hens: if you visited us last summer you will have seen three young chickens who we raised from egg and chicks, we realised towards the end of the season that all three of them were cockerels, so with heavy heart we have had to re home them and Shirley now has the two ducks (Robbie and Daphne) for company at the moment.

If you would like to enquire about staying with us or if you fancy doing a craft course while you are with us, just contact us. We look forward to hearing from you.

Sandra and David
